The SKECHERS Hot Chocolate Run in Chicago transforms Grant Park into a high-traffic race and post-race experience with multiple operational zones running in parallel. JK Rentals supported the build with tent coverage and infrastructure in key areas, including VIP and Cocoa Club, medical, gear check, volunteer, merchandise, command, and catering zones.
Setup began at the end of October, with final installations on race morning due to street access limitations. After a rainy start, conditions cleared, and the site was guest-ready for peak traffic.
JK Rentals supported the Hot Chocolate Run Chicago with an operational tent and support layout designed to keep participant flow and staff operations moving efficiently from start to post-race. Coverage included VIP and Cocoa Club service areas, finish line medical operations with custom-printed medical vinyl for clear identification, and dedicated zones for gear check, volunteer check-in, volunteer hospitality, and post-race staffing. Additional support included merchandise and chocolate service coverage, race-day wall adjustments to improve throughput, command, staff catering, catering kitchen coverage, and sponsor and mini catering tents staged across the footprint.
Site Conditions & Logistics
This build required flexible staging and tight coordination due to street-level placement and race-day access limits. The plan staged infrastructure early, then finished critical installs quickly on race morning to match closure windows and foot traffic. As conditions cleared after rain, comfort and coverage were designed for early use and good post-rain appearance.

Cocoa Club heaters helped maintain comfort and service consistency during early, wet conditions. Dedicated gear check and volunteer support zones helped keep staffing and participant flow organized from arrival through post-race operations. Merchandise and chocolate service coverage supported high-volume guest interaction, with planned wall adjustments to match race-day movement.
