Wisconsin State Fair | Fairgrounds Coverage by JK Rentals
Large-scale, multi-zone tent infrastructure built for Wisconsin’s most demanding fairground schedule
Each year, JK Rentals delivers covered and enclosed infrastructure across multiple zones at Wisconsin State Fair Park to support vendors, exhibits, hospitality, and operations. Layouts are engineered for coordinated power, climate control, flooring, and circulation—ensuring efficient performance across one of the state’s most active event campuses.
Project Scope
Installation began mid-July and took about three weeks, followed by a 10-day strike. The site includes grass, asphalt, and concrete, some of which is sloped. Anchoring methods and equipment like telehandlers, warehouse and boom lifts, a skid steer, and a UTV adapted to varying conditions.
State Fair Park operates on a continuous event calendar. As soon as Wisconsin State Fair wraps, the next major footprint moves in—often Milwaukee Mile IndyCar Weekend and Harvest Fair—rewarding partners who can plan ahead, turn sites quickly, and keep infrastructure consistent across seasons.

Site Conditions & Logistics
The fairgrounds present a large, active footprint with mixed surfaces and live traffic zones. Install planning emphasizes phased sequencing, surface-specific anchoring, and maintaining venue functionality during multi-week deployment.
Rain events and soft ground conditions required monitoring and occasional adjustments, with the priority remaining schedule alignment and safe execution throughout the campus.
Build Highlights
A closer look at how disciplined sequencing and multi-zone coordination support a fairground of this scale.
Multi-Zone Coverage Planning
Tents supported multiple functions, including food and beverage, merchandise, agriculture, entertainment, and guest spaces.
Layouts Built for Operations
Integrated power, HVAC, and flooring kept vendor and staff operations running efficiently.
Surface-Specific Anchoring
Anchoring methods were matched to grass, asphalt, concrete, and sloped areas to maintain stability.
Layouts Built for Operations
Telehandlers and lifts enabled efficient placement across the grounds and kept production moving throughout a multi-week installation window.
Challenges & Execution
Fairground builds evolve as zones activate and priorities shift throughout installation. Weather variability, slope considerations, and active site traffic required ongoing coordination and field-level decision-making to maintain schedule integrity.

System Additions
Large public events benefit from coordinated access systems, enclosure planning, flooring protection, and climate control infrastructure that support safe circulation and sustained operations.
